Clear the weekend calendar because your pup has places to go!

From yard-sale treasure hunting and live music to Oktoberfest, wine tasting and a special Blessing of the Animals, there are plenty of ways to get out of the house together this weekend.

Every outing in this guide welcomes dogs. Check the individual listing for leash, vaccination and reservation requirements, then choose an adventure, or make a full weekend of it.

First Stop: Bentley’s Barkery

Friday, September 25

Oktoberfest at Tioga-Sequoia

Tioga-Sequoia is celebrating Oktoberfest at its Downtown Fresno Beer Garden. Dogs are always welcome, so your pup can join you for the festivities.

Friday Night at Gazebo Gardens

Enjoy food trucks, live music and a relaxed evening in the garden with your pup. Chicken & Whiskey is scheduled to perform Friday evening.

Dogs are welcome at Gazebo Gardens, making this an easy Friday-night outing for the entire family.

Saturday, September 26

ARF Dog-Friendly Yard Sale

Shop for a good cause at Animal Rescue of Fresno’s yard sale. You may find antiques, vintage items, clothing, books, kitchen supplies and other treasures.

All proceeds benefit Animal Rescue of Fresno’s Medical Fund.

Leashed dogs are welcome, but they must be up to date on their vaccinations.

Madera Old Timers Day Parade

Old Timers Day begins with a parade through Downtown Madera, followed by Booths in the Park at Courthouse Park.

Dogs are welcome, but they must remain on a leash.

Blessing of the Animals

Memorial United Methodist Church in Clovis is holding its annual Blessing of the Animals.

This is a sweet opportunity to bring your pup for a special blessing and spend time with other animal-loving families.

Live Music at Solitary Cellars

Dave Aguallo will perform live on the Grassy Knoll. Bring a chair or blanket, relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the afternoon with your pup.

Palette to Palate at Yosemite Wine Tails

Take a drive to Oakhurst for an afternoon at Yosemite Wine Tails—a place created with wine lovers and their dogs in mind.

Saturday Night at Gazebo Gardens

Central Valley Groove is scheduled to perform Saturday evening. Come for the music, visit the food trucks and bring your leashed pup along.

Sunday, September 27

Brown Sugar Live at Solitary Cellars

Brown Sugar will close out the weekend with live music on the Grassy Knoll. Walk-ins are welcome, although reservations are recommended for wine tasting.

Turf in the Bog at Yosemite Wine Tails

Enjoy a laid-back Sunday featuring solo Irish flute music at Yosemite Wine Tails. Bring your pup and settle in for an easy afternoon in Oakhurst.

Unplugged and Uncorked at Engelmann Cellars

Spend Sunday afternoon at Engelmann Cellars’ Picnic in the Park. Allen Woodward is scheduled to perform from 2:00–5:00 p.m.

Weekend tasting hours are dog friendly. Bring a chair or blanket, and keep your pup leashed while you enjoy the afternoon.

If you prefer an outing without a set schedule, South of Shaw has a dog-friendly patio where you can relax with your pup.

Before You Head Out

Bring a leash, water, waste bags and anything your pup needs to stay comfortable. Please make sure vaccinations are current, especially if you are visiting the ARF Yard Sale.

Watch your pup’s comfort level around crowds, music and other dogs. A good outing is one your pup enjoys too.
