The Pack’s Weekend Guide: Día de las Mascotas, Sniffari Night & Halloween Fun

Halloween is almost here, and this weekend gives our pups two especially good reasons to get out with us.
Bentley’s Barkery will be out in the community Saturday for Día de las Mascotas and Sunday for Sniffari Night at Fresno Chaffee Zoo.
Add pumpkin patches, costumes, and a few easy fall outings, and the pack has options.
🌼 Saturday: Día de las Mascotas
Saturday, October 24 | 10 AM–3 PM

Saturday begins with Día de las Mascotas, a celebration honoring the animals who have shared our lives and the ones we continue to carry with us.
Bentley’s Barkery will be there from 10 AM to 3 PM, and this one feels especially fitting for this time of year.
Día de los Muertos traditions give us space to remember with tenderness, color, food, photographs, and stories. Día de las Mascotas brings that same spirit of remembrance to the animals who became part of our families.
Come by Mi Cafesito, spend some time with the community, and come find Bentley’s while you’re there.
🐾 Sunday’s Big One: Sniffari Night — ZooBoo Edition
Sunday, October 25 | 5–8 PM
Fresno Chaffee Zoo
For one night, the zoo is opening its gates to dogs.
Sniffari Night: ZooBoo Edition brings pups into the Halloween fun with trick-or-treating, fall photo opportunities, a pooch parade, costumes, and an evening exploring the zoo after hours.
And pack, come find Bentley’s Barkery while you’re there! We’ll be joining the festivities Sunday night, so stop by and say hello.
If your pup has a costume, this is the weekend to bring it out.

🎃 Take Your Pup Pumpkin Picking at Miss Winkles
Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM–5 PM
Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center, Clovis
If you still need that perfect fall photo, Miss Winkles has one of the easiest dog-friendly pumpkin outings around.
Their courtyard pumpkin patch is open through October 31, and visiting dogs are welcome in the pumpkin patch and front lobby.
Pumpkin purchases also benefit the animals at Miss Winkles.

🍂 Another Dog-Friendly Pumpkin Patch in Clovis
Harvest Patch
Saturday: 11 AM–9 PM | Sunday: 11 AM–6 PM
Harvest Patch is another option for pups who would rather spend the weekend outside.
Leashed pets are welcome, and the patch includes pumpkins, a corn maze, pumpkin smashing, and other fall activities.
This might be the better choice for a pup who wants a longer walk and a little more room to explore.
🐶 Saturday at Valley Animal Center
Saturday, October 24 | 2–5 PM
Valley Animal Center, Fresno
Valley Animal Center is hosting its annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Saturday afternoon with decorated trunks, a spooky maze, vendors, food, games, and raffles.
This one is worth adding to the weekend even if your own pup stays home. It’s an easy way to spend part of Saturday supporting an organization whose work revolves around Valley animals.

PAW SQUAD 559 will be at Pet Supplies Plus in Clovis Saturday from 10 AM–2:30 PM for its regular Saturday dog adoption event.
You may go in just to look.
We know how that story sometimes ends.
Around the Rest of the Valley
There are plenty of pumpkin patches and Halloween events happening in Madera, Kings County, and Visalia this weekend.
But if we can’t verify that pet dogs are actually welcome, they don’t make the official pack itinerary.
Around here, dog-friendly means your dog is actually invited.

Madera Fairgrounds has Fresno Dog Agility scheduled for October 30 through November 1.
