October 16–18, 2026 | Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Kings County & Visalia
October is giving our pack plenty of reasons to get out of the house!
This weekend, we’re trading ordinary walks for pumpkin patches, Halloween costumes, dog-friendly adventures, and a festival made especially for our four-legged friends.
Whether your pup loves being the center of attention or prefers a leisurely afternoon sniffing around town, we’ve rounded up a few ways to make the most of the weekend.
And pack, don’t forget to take pictures. We’ve been seeing your adventures on Instagram, and we want to share them, too!

🎃 Pumpkin Patch Season Is Here, Clovis!

What’s October without a pumpkin patch photograph?
Fortunately, our pack has a couple of seasonal options in Clovis.
Miss Winkles Annual Pumpkin Patch
Friday–Sunday | Listed hours: 11 AM–5 PM
Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center is celebrating fall with its annual pumpkin patch.
Bring your pup, pick out a pumpkin, and capture a few seasonal photographs while supporting an organization dedicated to animals.
Dogs are welcome in the designated pumpkin patch and front lobby areas, but not throughout the adoption facility.

Harvest Patch
Clovis | Friday–Sunday
Looking for another place to enjoy the season?
Harvest Patch welcomes leashed pets and offers pumpkins, a corn maze, and plenty of opportunities for autumn photographs.
Admission and parking are listed as free, with individual activities potentially carrying separate charges.
If your pup enjoys exploring new sights and smells, this could make for a fun afternoon together.
A little Barkery tip: Bring water, keep your pup leashed, and give them room to take in the excitement. Not every dog enjoys crowds, and that’s perfectly fine!
👻 Halloween Treats at PetSmart
Saturday, October 17 | Listed hours: 10 AM–4 PM
Halloween isn’t just for the humans!
PetSmart’s Tricks for Treats activity is listed for participating stores, with opportunities for treats and festive photographs.
Locations in Fresno, Clovis, Hanford, and Visalia are among those listed for participation.
Have a costume your pup has been waiting to wear? This might be the perfect excuse to bring it out early.
Be sure to contact your preferred PetSmart location to confirm participation and event details before visiting.
❤️ Looking to Welcome a New Pack Member?
Not every dog-friendly weekend activity has to involve the dog you already have. Sometimes the most meaningful outing is meeting one who needs a home.
PAW SQUAD 559 Adoption Event — Clovis
Saturday, October 17 | 10 AM–2:30 PM
PAW SQUAD 559 has an adoption event listed at Pet Supplies Plus in Clovis.
If you’ve been thinking about adding another furry family member, consider stopping by to meet the available dogs and learn more about the rescue’s work.
Tulare County Animal Services Adoption Event
Saturday, October 17 | 10 AM–4 PM
Tulare County Animal Services has an adoption and donation event listed, with a promotional adoption fee of $5.
Even if adoption isn’t in your immediate plans, sharing information about adoptable animals can help connect them with future families.
Please confirm adoption requirements and event details with the organizations before visiting.
🌳 Sometimes the Best Plan Is a Simple One
We haven’t confirmed a dog-specific event in Madera County for this weekend, but that doesn’t mean your pup has to miss out.
A neighborhood walk, a familiar park, or a relaxing afternoon on a dog-friendly patio can be every bit as enjoyable as a festival.
For our Fresno pups, Woodward Park remains a popular option for an outdoor outing, with walking paths and a designated dog area.
And if your dog would rather stay close to home? A little extra playtime, a favorite treat, and your undivided attention might be their idea of a perfect weekend.
The important thing isn’t how elaborate the outing is. It’s the time you spend together.
📅 Coming Up: More October Fun
Keep these dates on your radar as you plan the rest of the month.
Wednesday, October 21: Madera County Animal Services has a free dog adoption event listed from 10 AM–4 PM.

📸 Pack, We See You Out There!
Now, we have a little request.
We’ve been seeing those familiar furry faces on Instagram. The weekend adventures, the Barkday celebrations, the pumpkin patch pictures, and all the places you’ve been exploring together.
We love it!
But we want to do more than admire your photos from our feed.
We want to share your adventures with the rest of our pack.
That’s why we created Share Your Pup, a special place on our website where you can upload your favorite photograph directly from your phone and tell us the story behind it.
Maybe your pup attended Dogtoberfest. Maybe they found the perfect pumpkin. Maybe they spent Sunday stretched across the couch, completely unbothered.
We want those moments, too.
Your pup could be featured in an upcoming Bentley’s blog or on our Instagram, with your permission.
We already know how wonderful your pups are. Now let’s show everyone what they’ve been up to!
Have a beautiful weekend, pack!
With love from the Barkery,
Ebony & Bentley
